Filling masterbatch refers to the mixing and kneading of various auxiliaries masterbatch, filler masterbatch and a small amount of carrier resin required in the plastic processing and molding process, and the granules and powders obtained are called masterbatch.

The filler masterbatch is composed of carrier resin, filler and various additives. The limit of additives or the content of fillers in the masterbatch is several to ten times higher than the actual amount required in plastic products. During the molding process, the ratio of the masterbatch and the matrix resin must be adjusted according to the content of the relevant components in the masterbatch and the amount that needs to be added in the actual product.

Masterbatch can usually be divided into ordinary filler masterbatch (filling masterbatch for short) and functional masterbatch, such as color masterbatch, black masterbatch, defoaming masterbatch, etc. The main component of filler masterbatch is filler, which is mainly used for the processing and molding of polyolefin (polyethylene and polypropylene), also known as polyolefin filler masterbatch.

Going straight to the topic, the commonly used optical brightener for filling masterbatch is optical brightener OB-1. The optical brightener OB-1 has high whiteness, high temperature resistance, and low price. It is one of the three commonly used plastic brighteners. optical brightener OB-1 belongs to optical brightening. It can absorb ultraviolet rays and emit blue-violet fluorescence, instantly increasing the whiteness of the filled masterbatch by 15%.

How to use optical brightener in the filler masterbatch 

1. Mix the filler heavy calcium carbonate, talcum powder, kaolin, calcium powder, etc. used in the polyolefin filling masterbatch evenly

2. Mix the special optical brightener OB-1 for the filler masterbatch and the filler in a ratio of 0.02%-0.05%

3. Put the mixed materials into the co-rotating twin-screw extruder for processing

4. It can be seen that the filler masterbatch added with the special optical brightener OB-1 for filler masterbatch is whiter and brighter.
